Modern Classes
Modern
I - 7 years & up
Class Length: 1 Hour
Beginning Horton with an emphasis on core strength, flexibility
and musical awareness. Black leotard and black footless tights
or black biker shorts.
Modern II - 10 years & up
Class Length: 1 Hour
Continues where Modern I left off. Focus on Horton and Dunham
(Afro-Carribean style) techniques. Emphasis is on quicker movements,
spinal articulation, dynamics and balance. Black leotard and black
footless tights or black biker shorts.
Modern III - 12 years & up
Class Length: 1.5 Hours
More advanced study of Horton, Dunham and introduction to some
Graham technique. Students practice more advanced studies including
turns, jumps, falls and floor work. Students also work more deeply
with dynamics and expression. Black leotard and black footless
tights or black biker shorts.
Modern IV - 14 years & up
Class Length: 1.5 Hours
More advanced and fast paced study of all modern styles with emphasis
on Graham and Contemporary Movement. Focus is on the details of
technique, consistency and expression. Solid color leotard and
footless black tights.
