Summer Program
You can stay in shape this summer with HPSD's weekly schedule of regular classes for students of all ages. Two 4-week sessions will be offered. Session I will run from June 1 through June 27 and Session II will run from July 6 through August 1. Please check the schedule of classes on this website for more information.

Young Choreographers Workshop
June 15-26
Monday-Friday 12:00-4:00 pm
Instructor - Sarah Ford
This workshop is for students in Ballet level IV and higher or
Modern level III and higher who are interested in learning the
art of creating their own dances. Students will be guided through
exercises that teach the craft of choreography. Daily exercises
will be geared to the individual student’s level. The class
is suitable for both students who have some experience in creating
dance and those who have no experience. A studio performance showcasing
the work created during the workshop will be presented for friends
and family on the final Friday of the program. Students who are
not able to commit to the full two weeks may enroll for the first
week of the workshop.
Teacher Trainee Workshop
Session I: June 6-June27
Saturdays 9:00-11:30am

Session II: July11-August 1
Saturdays 9:00-11:30am
Instructors - August Tye and Sarah Ford
This workshop is for students who are currently enrolled in the Teacher Trainee Program at HPSD and are in Ballet V or higher. Students will teach with Artistic Director, August Tye, on Saturday mornings concentrating on levels Creative Movement through Pre Ballet II. Each week there will be a 30-minute discussion following the day’s classes. Some students with considerable experience will be allowed to co-teach the classes with Ms. Tye. Students who participate in this workshop will gain a better understanding of the structure of the HPSD syllabus and the art of teaching young children.
This program is open free of charge to students who can commit to the four week program without missing any classes.
Although this program is for experienced HPSD Teacher Trainees, there are other opportunities for younger Teacher Trainees to assist with classes during the summer. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Tye at
